Music is extremely important to the company. The idea mainly came from the Director of Straightjacket, Jacob Casselden. Even though he was born Deaf, Jacob took the drumming skills from the men side of his family, giving Jacob better knowledge and understanding to music than most hearing people in the world. Jacob were able to explain the perspective differences of music between the hearing and deaf. It is somewhat rather inspiriring to learn. The company has been exploring Jacob's side of music, opening the boundaries and possibilities, investigating even deeper inside where the 'music' lives.

StraightJacket have been creating music with the use of both digital and live methods for most performances. Is it too much for you to handle? Why not find out...

StraightJacket is currently developing a Music Course for the Deaf in partnership with the Bristol Music Foundation, allowing the deaf to get involved, invent and show the work to the world. Maybe deaf people can also be the culinary of music. Look at Beethoven and Evelyn Glennie. If they both have been able to entertain others, then so can many deaf people.

We are supported by DJ Utah Jazz, a valuable member of the music company. Utah Jazz have rocketed to fame after his debut at the Fabric Nightclub in Central London. Utah Jazz is currently entertaining around the world, impressing every 'drum'n'bass' reviewers worldwide.
